The developers behind first-person shooter Squad are working on a Starship Troopers game. Earlier today, Sony Pictures Consumer Products and Offworld Industries confirmed that Starship Troopers: Extermination, is landing on PC in 2023.
We know this is a 12-person squad-based shooter that’ll see players go up against Bugs as part of the Deep Space Vanguard. Based on the 1997 film, Extermination is set to launch in Early Access.
Pick from Assault, Support, and Defense classes to suit your playstyle. Additionally, you can build defences to stop Bugs including walls, towers, ammo stations and more by refining planetside materials.
Offworld Industries promises a class progression system to explore new weapons, equipment, and perks for each class. And you’ll need to take advantage of these systems to battle against the five Bug types at launch including Drone, Warrior, Gunner, Plasma Grenadier, and Tiger Elite enemy Bugs.
Given that communication is vital in any multiplayer title, Extermination will use a ping system for players to communicate across each map to locate points of interest, objectives, incoming enemies, and more to teammates. At Early Access launch, there will be five unique zones and swarm-based combat to experience.
