I know that many people are still playing Stardew Valley, hell, my feeds are littered with posts about the game. I’ve always meant to try it and see what the fuss was about, as I grew up with Harvest Moon and spent hours as a child cultivating the best farm ever.
One thing I’ve seen many people ask about is whether we would see a multiplayer portion at some point – which seems to be happening now as Eric Barone, the creator of Stardew Valley is working on implementing a patch that will bring both local and online play to his breakout hit.
On Twitter, Barone took some time to talk about recent updates -which are now finished and his only project is getting the multiplayer patch out to eager players.
4-player Stardew Valley LAN party at my house… it's really fun. It still needs some work, but the underlying network code is solid. Being in the same room and yelling at each other about what to do next, or if anyone has any stone, is great fun. Can't wait to share this pic.twitter.com/Sjxyd712BK

From his tweets, he not only confirms the existence of online multiplayer but that he has set up a 4-player LAN that works rather well. Check your Twitter feeds, you’ll see the amount of excitement from everyone. As for me, I’ll consider getting it on the Nintendo Switch, but I hear this is a major time sink and rather addicting.
