Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic Remake

Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic Remake Announced

Kicking off the PlayStation Showcase 2021 was the reveal of Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic Remake, in development for PlayStation. The remake comes from Aspyr and Lucasfilm Games. I can confirm the game is console timed on PlayStation and PC and the remake is completely rebuilt from the ground up for a new generation.

Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic is set over 4,000 years before the events of the original trilogy and introduced a new story of new heroes and villains.

“We’ve spent the past several years assembling the very best talent from across the industry to deliver a modern vision of this timeless Star Wars legend,” said Aspyr co-founder Ted Staloch. “As lifelong Star Wars fans with extensive experience working with many of its best games, we have the deepest love and admiration for Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic and cannot wait to share this amazing remake with the rest of the galaxy.”

The team working on Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic is composed of industry veterans and Aspyr is working closely with Lucasfilm Games. Aspyr has been the go-to studio in recent years, porting over many older Star Wars games to newer hardware, including Star Wars Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast, Star Wars Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy, Star Wars: Episode I – Racer, Star Wars: Republic Commando, and the original Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic!

The remake has been rumoured to be in development this year and now it looks like it’s official.
