“After careful thought and consideration, Stig Asmussen has decided to leave Respawn to pursue other adventures, and we wish him the best of luck,” an EA spokesperson said in a statement to the press. “Veteran Respawn leaders will be stepping up to guide the team as they continue their work on Star Wars Jedi: Survivor.”
Both Star Wars Jedi titles were widely successful for EA, returning the franchised series to its former glory after a middling decade of phoned-in titles. It was Respawn Entertainment’s first game outside of Titanfall and is now the studio’s most successful series.
Stig Asmussen was previously at Santa Monica Studio, where he worked on the God of War series before directing God of War 3.
