Star Wars: Dark Forces Is Getting Remastered For Consoles And PC

A release date is set to be Announced later this year

Long-time fans of Star Wars: Dark Forces, your time is now as the franchise’s classic first-person shooter is getting a remastered release for modern platforms, including PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series, and Nintendo Switch.

Development of the remastered version of Star Wars: Dark Forces is being handled by the System Shock Remake developer, Nightdive Studios, well known for their work on remasters and enhanced ports over the last decade, so it sounds like the game is in good hands. Star Wars: Dark Forces  Remaster is set to run on Nightdive Studios’ KEX engine, which allows the franchise’s first-person shooter to boost its resolution up to 4K and run up to 120 fps with remastered cutscenes and content plus includes features like advanced 3D rendering, modern gamepad support, Trophies and Achievements, and more.

Star Wars: Dark Forces first launched in 1995 on the MS-DOS with a port released more than a year later on the original PlayStation. While no release date or window was given, those launch details will be announced sometime later this year, so be on the look until then.
