Star Ocean The Divine Force

Next Week We’ll Learn More About Star Ocean The Divine Force

Per Gematsu, Square Enix and developer tri-Ace will be hosting a Star Ocean The Divine Force live stream on June 29, giving players a solid 40 minutes of gameplay and information.

One particular tidbit that stands out to me since the game’s initial reveal is that The Divine Force will feature dual protagonists, something that we haven’t seen since Star Ocean: The Second Story. In this case, Raymond, the captain of the space trading ship, Ydas, and Laeticia, the princess-knight of a kingdom on an underdeveloped planet will be co-leads.

Things we do know is that there will be no random encounters as players can battle enemies on the spot. In a first for the series, players can now fly around areas and attack enemies from the air. The environments seem much bigger than ever before and if you remember Star Ocean: Integrity and Faithlessness, the game was a budget title that had some rather cramped, bland environments.

The Star Ocean Program Special Edition will air in Japanese at 7 AM ET on June 29, 2022.
