As if the announcement that Final Fantasy VII Remake delay wasn’t enough, Square Enix also confirmed that the upcoming Avengers video game is also delayed.
Speaking on the Crystal Dynamics blog, the studio confirmed the news that the Avengers would not make it’s intended May release date and is now shifted and slated to be a Fall 2020 title.
If you’re wondering why the delay, it’s for fine-tuning and polish according to the developers and that’s usually a sign the studio want to make a better game for their fans. Granted, this is also not the standard IP and by using Marvel’s Mightiest Heroes (and Disney’s moneymakers) that the delay may be from their side and not from the studio.
As it were, the game didn’t receive the most spectacular feedback when the game was revealed at E3 last year, and has since seen some upgrades to the graphics. It makes sense given the fact fans we’re as impressed as the studio expected.
