Get that sleep out of your eyes, squid kids, Nintendo has announced on its Nintendo Today app that Splatoon Raiders, the franchise’s single player focused spinoff will launch exclusively for Nintendo Switch 2 on July 23rd. That’s not all, Splatoon Raiders will see the return of the Deep Cut Trio (Frye, Shiver, and Big Man) from Splatoon 3 and will have their own set of amiibo releasing the same day as the latest Splatoon game.
Player will go on a “high-stakes adventure” as the Mechanic alongside the swashbuckling musician trio as they explore the mysterious Spirhalite Islands in this action shooter that focuses on the single player feel, instead of the multiplayer mayhem Splatoon is known for. Players will customize not just the look of their character, but the loadout of gadgets and inked-up weapons as they attempt to raid the new setting for all its treasure. Be aware, you’ll encounter enemies known as Salmonids along the way.

Even though it feels like Splatoon has been at the core of Nintendo’s DNA for a while, the franchise kicked off in 2015 on the Wii U and, since then, has released two other major entries during the Nintendo Switch generation. Splatoon, as a franchise, has always experimented with single-player content, with Splatoon 3 taking the next step further with the release of its Side Order DLC, a roguelite spin on Splatoon. A full single-player game was just the next evolution of that approach, and now maybe players who are not too multiplayer-pilled can finally give Splatoon a chance with the release of Splatoon Raiders later this summer.
As for how much the game will be, Splatoon Raiders will launch at a more budget price point digitally at $49.99 USD.$69.99 CAD, while its physical editions will be $59.99 USD/$84.99 CAD, according to Lbabinz via Nintendo’s listing.
