Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 Confirms PvP Multiplayer Mode is Making a Comeback Alongside Announcement of Three-Player Co-Op Mode

Fans of the multiplayer mode featured in the first Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine game rejoice. Publisher Focus Entertainment and developer Saber Interactive have confirmed in a trailer that the original game’s PvP action will return in the upcoming late 2024 sequel.

The news isn’t that surprising, as we learned about the return of the Space Marine multiplayer mode earlier this month through a now-delisted video via PCGamer. Players and five other friends will battle against six other players on the opposite team in the PvP mode, featuring three modes – Annihilation, Seize Ground, and Capture & Control. That’s not all the news, though, as the developer has also revealed that Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 is getting a three-player co-op mode called Operations Mode, where your squad will slay Xenos, taking victory for all Space Marines.

“Each player-versus-environment and player-versus-player mode lets players choose between six available classes, ranging from the unflinching Bulwark and his Combat Shield to the stealthy Sniper with his Camo Cloak,” Focus Entertainment and Saber Interactive detailed.

Additionally, players can make their Space Marine avatar uniquely their own, including customizing the look of everything from helm to greaves, with a wide selection of colours, heraldry decals, pauldrons, gauntlets, and more. If you’re not thinking of picking up Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2‘s season pass, you’ll still have access to content like missions, enemies, and weapons via free updates, but if you do, you will get access to more cosmetic items.

Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 is set to launch on September 9th for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S.
