Sonic the Hedgehog Gets a Tomy Plush Collection

Did you know that 2021 is the 30th anniversary for Sega’s Sonic the Hedgehog franchise? Over the last three decades, Sonic has been a staple in many households and even last year had his first chance on the big screen, with a new movie set for next year. Since debuting on June 23, 1991, Sonic has gone on to become a pop culture figure.

Now, it looks like Sega wants to conquer the plush world as Sega has announced a partnership with Tomy to deliver a new Club Mocchi line of plush dolls.

“Sonic is an all-time classic video game character that has evolved into a beloved lifestyle brand and we are thrilled to bring these amazing characters to fans and collectors around the world through our unique Club Mocchi – Mocchi – brand,” said Tomy Global Brand Director Morgan Weyl. “The signature look and feel of our Club Mocchi – Mocchi – items will even turn Sonic’s quills in the most huggable quills ever!”

Right now, these will be exclusive to Target in the US and retail for roughly $40 CAD. I’m hoping we get these in Canada, they look pretty cool and I wouldn’t mind having a few to show off.
