Sonic the Hedgehog is celebrating his 35th anniversary this year and over that time SEGA’s chili dog loving mascot has sped his way through tons of mediums, including video games, TV shows, comic book, and most recently even finding success in the movie space, but for the first time is hitting the speed boost on audio drama with the announcement of The Chaotix Casefiles, a narrative podcast launching on January 27th on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, and Amazon Music.
The audio adventure will see our hedgehog hero up with Team Chaotix’s Vector the Crocodile, Espio the Chameleon, and Charmy Bee that looks to emulate the style of classic detective noir stories. The project is being presented by SEGA of America with Realm, a podcast media collaborator handling distribution and ads. The podcast cast announced includes Roger Craig Smith as Sonic the Hedgehog, Keith Silverstein as Vector the Crocodile, Matthew Mercer as Espio the Chameleon, Colleen O’Shaughnessey as Charmy Bee, and more to be heard including a tease of Dr. Robotnik (Eggman) that sounds to be played by the character’s longtime voice actor, Mike Pollock.
