Sega’s Sonic Frontiers will receive the Final Horizon content drop later today at 8 PM ET.
The update is the third content drop since Sonic Frontiers launched in November 2022. Last month, we learned that Final Horizon brings a new story where you can play Sonic, Knuckles, Tails, and Amy, and we know Sonic again collects the Chaos Emeralds and becomes Super Sonic.
Set just before the final battle on Ouranos Island, Sage calculates a new and unlikely scenario. With the help of both Dr. Eggman and Sage, Sonic jumps into a new plan to convert the Cyber Corruption into a new power source. This is all happening while Amy, Knuckles, and Tails seek to do their part and begin searching for the Chaos Emeralds on Sonic’s behalf.
Last year, I reviewed Sonic Frontiers and said, “Sonic Frontiers is not what I ever expected for Sonic the Hedgehog. Sega pulled a risky bet by throwing the book at the wall and seeing what sticks, but that move seemed to pay off. Please make no mistake; Sonic Frontiers is a fresh take on a series that has tried everything. It’s a Sonic 3D title with impeccable handling and mechanics. While the story may not resonate with everyone, I enjoyed it. It does so many things right that the problems, especially around the camera, aren’t enough to spoil the experience.”
