Tyson Hesse, the man who worked on Sonic Mania Adventures, returns as Director on Rise of the Wisps and features Dr. Eggman, Sonic and the new Jade Wisp. Set on Sweet Mountain, Eggman is up to no good (what else is new) and with him experimenting on the Wisps, a lone Jade Wisp escapes the clutches of Eggman and his experimental facilities.
Picking up not long after meeting Sonic and Tails, the Jade Wisp tries to recall the events that unfolded when it was under the watchful eye of Metal Sonic and Eggman. In short, the Wisps are under duress thanks to Eggman and his cronies and after learning of what was done to them, Sonic says he “has a zero-tolerance on bullies,” before taking off to save the other Wisps.
Sonic Colors: Ultimate is set to launch on September 7 on PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and PC. Expect to see a second Rise of the Wisps episode soon.
