Shin Megami Tensei V Sells Over One Million Copies on Switch

Nintendo Switch players love Shin Megami Tensei V!

Since its worldwide release last November, the game has surpassed one million copies sold when both physical and digital sales totals are combined. This figure is up from the 800,000 sold back in January making some gains in the last few months.

The successfully mid-80’s-rated game was first teased in 2017, alongside the release of the system it’s currently exclusively on and is responsible for reigniting interests in this extensive series that’s been ongoing since the mid-80s. That excitement is only expected to continue to grow this year as its spin-off title Persona turns 25.

The game sees players control a high school student who must harness newfound powers, as well as some fan-favourite demon characters, to fight through a demon-infested Tokyo wasteland using a turn-based RPG command system that feels like second nature. And yet, Bobby felt that Atlus gave the game a nearly perfect facelift
