Deep Silver and Ys Net announced another delay for the anticipated Shenmue III. While not a lengthy delay, the move to November puts the series in competition with EA’s Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order and Death Stranding.
Over on Kickstarter, director Yu Suzuki relayed the news to backers “Whilst almost ready, the game simply needs a little more refinement before being truly finished. We feel that the extra time we have will help us deliver the true Shenmue experience players around the world deserve! We thank you for your patience and understanding.”
It’s better to be delayed than rushed in this industry, a lesson many developers have yet grasp, but this is good news. The timing is bad because bigger games are launching around the same time, but those who want Shenmue III will purchase this above all else.
