Koei Tecmo America, Omega Force and their anime collaborators Type-Moon and Aniplex are giving us a second look at their upcoming Edo-era Fate vertical Fate/Samurai Remnant.
Today’s trailer gives us a look at a couple of series-favourite heroic spirits in the form of Rogue Lancer Cú Chulainn and Rogue Archer Arjuna, both of whom have stuck around thanks to their charm, real-world mythical appeal… oh, and their sexy manhood.
Joining them is Fate/Grand Order NPC holdover Rogue Rider Tamamo Aria — who is ready to make her debut as… I will quote directly here so you don’t think these are my words, a young woman who “captivates men with her dainty appearance and somewhat frivolous speech and behaviour. Instead of riding on something, riding on someone seems to be her preferred form of transportation.”
New characters joining the mix are Rogue Saber and Rogue Berserker. The first is “an armoured warrior who rides a gray horse and wields a large sword. He is pursuing an enemy called the Evil Ogre, whom he seeks to destroy.” While the second sounds like he would do well at Edo-themed birthday parties. “A long-haired fighter who boasts a muscular body. Being summoned as a Berserker, he has lost all sense of rationality.”
This iteration of the Holy Grail War also introduces the “Spirit Font Conflict,” a competition between enemies for “spirit fonts” scattered throughout Edo. The explainer of how this works is convoluted, but they will give player-character Iori buffs and can also be collected by Servants. These are temporary but can work powerfully in tandem with upgrades from the workshop.
Fate/Samurai Remnant is available in both Standard and Digital Deluxe editions, with both versions now available for pre-order and launching September 28th. The Digital Deluxe Edition features the base game, a digital artbook and soundtrack, the Fate/Samurai Remnant Season Pass that includes three DLC sets, and the Season Pass Bonus: Hallowed Relic Sword Mountings.
Additionally, fans who pre-order Fate/Samurai Remnant digitally or at select retail stores by September 28, 2023, will receive Miyamoto Musashi’s unique costume, “Phantasmal Dress.”
You can pick up Treasure Edition from NIS America.
