The latest hit from From Software, Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice is a bonafide hit for the developer. In under 10 days more than two million copies sold around the world, effectively making this a must-play for gamers.
“The game has performed well on all platforms including PC and we’re excited by the continued support from gamers and critics alike,” said Activision VP of Product Management and Marketing Michelle Fonseca. “It has been gratifying to see the enjoyment from fans when they overcome each challenge.”
Without a doubt, the word of mouth and the high Metacritic scores for Sekiro helped drive the game to where it currently is. Also, according to Activision, Twitch saw around 1.1 billion minutes of video streamed within one week of launch.
From Software’s last title was Dark Souls 3. By comparison, sales hit three million copies two months after release worldwide with 500,000 copies in Japan and Asia and 1.5 million copies in North America, and one million copies in Europe. Sekiro now holds the record for the fastest selling title in From Software’s history.
