Next, we learned more about Team Sonic Racing from SUMO Digital. The studio confirmed they are focusing on racing as a team, and that customization is a big part of their game.
As racers win complete races and win, they earn in-game currency and that allows them to earn a ton of prizes. Through these prizes, you’re able to upgrade performance, horns, and paint colors. By earning in-game credits, players can venture to the garage to unlock parts for the front of their car, the rear or the wheels, allowing for alterations to the vehicle’s performance and handling.
Takashi Iizuka announced at the Gotta Go Fast: The Official Sonic the Hedgehog SXSW event on Saturday that Sega is developing “the next major” title in the Sonic the Hedgehog game series.
Team Sonic Racing will be out on Xbox One, PS4, Switch and PC on May 21, 2019.
