Rumours circulating the web right now indicate that Volition, the studio behind recent game Agents of Mayhem, laid off over 30 people this week. Sources spoke to Kotaku and divulged general manager Dan Cermak was also let go.
The layouts affect a workforce of roughly 200 people, and one month on, Agents of Mayhem, a game set in the Saints Row universe, was a major factor in this decision, as the game failed to meet expectations. Sources close to situation reveal Deep Silver, the parent company of Volition, was not happy with the sales.
Hopefully, the studio bounces back, the Saints Row series has always been a fun and refreshing take on the open-world genre, with its wackiness and a solid cast of interesting characters.
