*Don’t worry, this article is Star Wars: The Force Awakens Spoiler-Free!*

After months of waiting and speculation, the world finally got the chance to witness the release of Star Wars: The Force Awakens! After seeing it in theaters 4 times in the past 3 1/2 weeks of its release, the hype for me is still huge! So, when I managed to get my hands on the latest Disney Infinity 3.0 Play Set, which was not only Star Wars themed, but also based around the new film too! I was over the moon… or you could say, in a galaxy far, far away!

Like the previous Star Wars Disney Infinity Play Sets, the Force Awakens Play Set comes with a Play Set Base and two character figurines of Rey and Finn; the stars of Episode VII. Rey has her staff and blaster, and can jump higher than most characters in the game. Finn uses a Stormtrooper rifle which, according to John Vognocchi, an Executive Producer at Disney Interactive Studios, is the most powerful weapon in the game! Other The Force Awakens characters newly available for the Play Set include Poe Dameron and Kylo Ren, but as you go along within the story, you will find hidden character coins, which will allow you to use your other Star Wars characters, including Han Solo, Chewbacca, and Boba Fett!

And much like the Rise Against the Empire Play Set, the storyline loosely follows the plot of the film, so some characters and events that appeared in the movie were not necessarily in the game. None the less, if you have not seen The Force Awakens yet, nothing huge was spoiled, and it really was quite the fun storyline!

If I had to choose a favourite Disney Infinity 3.0 Play Set that was released in 2015, I would have to say that this one was definitely my favourite, alongside the Rise Against the Empire Play Set. There were so many little things, and fun Star Wars based events they added to make the experience all the more enjoyable! They even managed to get Daisy Ridley (Rey), John Boyega (Finn), Oscar Isaac (Poe Dameron) and Adam Driver (Kylo Ren) to voice their respective characters in the game! Like the LEGO titles, I much prefer playing co-op with another player, since it is faster to complete missions, and does enhance the experience. Not to mention, in Disney Infinity, more players usually means more blue sparks to purchase Play Set toys from the Toy Store!

Whether you love Disney Infinity or you’re a huge Star Wars fan… or maybe you just want to introduce the world of Star Wars to your children, this is definitely a highly recommended Play Set for you. And unlike the Skylanders series or LEGO Dimensions, you don’t require nearly as many figurines and game pieces in order to enjoy the game, or even to complete it.

The Star Wars: The Force Awakens Play Set is retailing for $29.99, and is available now for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Wii U, PlayStation 3, and the Xbox 360!
