Respawn's Star Wars Jedi

Respawn is Working on Three Star Wars Games for EA

Respawn Entertainment is a busy studio these days and after the reception on 2019’s Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, it’s hard not to put all your eggs in one basket.

Respawn is now the lead on Star Wars

In addition to Apex Legends, today we’ve learned that the EA studio is working on a follow-up to Fallen Order. The sequel will be helmed by game director Stig Asmussen. In addition to that, there are two unannounced Star Wars games currently in production including a first-person shooter (but not Battlefront 3), helmed by Peter Hirschmann — director of Medal of Honor: Above and Beyond.

“Working with Lucasfilm Games on a new FPS in the Star Wars galaxy is a dream come true for me, as this is a story I have always wanted to tell,” said Peter Hirschmann, having served as VP of development at LucasArts, and was executive producer on the original Star Wars Battlefront series.

The third game that Respawn is working on is a Star Wars strategy game developed through a production collaboration with newcomer Bit Reactor, led by Greg Foerstch. Respawn will produce the new Star Wars strategy game while Bit Reactor leads on the development of the title.

“We are huge fans of Star Wars here at Respawn and we’re thrilled to work with Lucasfilm Games on new titles that we have wanted to make for years,” said Zampella in a statement. “If you want to make great Star Wars games, you should come join us on our journey.”
