Resident Evil 4 Remake

Resident Evil 4 Remake Launches March 2023

To kick off today’s State of Play with Resident Evil 4 Remake was certainly a mood. While the rumours have swirled for some time now, today marks the first official reveal of the remake that is currently in development for consoles and PlayStation VR2.

Some of the segments shown in the trailer do seem familiar but Capcom has also confirmed that the remake will serve as a reimagining. I definitely get a horror vibe from the trailer but there are still a ton of things up in the air I’m not sure how the developers will handle.

First, it is a remake of the 2005 original that is aiming for a release next year, “preserving the essence of the original game.” The goal is to make it feel familiar for fans but also refresh things like reimagining the storyline of the game while “keeping the essence of its direction.”

I’m excited to see the PlayStation VR2 implementation given how well received the Resident Evil VII VR content was.

In related news, Resident Evil Village is also getting VR support. The news comes from the PlayStation Blog and will be coming to PlayStation VR2 using the Sense controllers.

Resident Evil 4 will launch on March 24, 2023, for Xbox Series, PlayStation 5, and PC.
