Unsurprisingly, last month’s Resident Evil 2, the long-awaited remake of the PlayStation classic, has met with success, as today Capcom revealed that four million copies have shipped in the first month alone.
Originally released in 1998, Resident Evil 2 went on to sell roughly five million copies, making it the fourth-best selling game in the franchise. Since then, Capcom took their time and used cutting-edge tech for the remake, building the entire game from the ground up. Using photo-realistic graphics made possible with the new RE Engine, Capcom delivered one of the best remakes of all time, garnering both critical and commercial success and praise.
With four million copies shipped, and free downloadable content titled The Ghost Survivors out now, Capcom remains committed to the franchise.
