Continuing the PlayStation Indies initiative, the next game to be revealed is Recompile, a new game from Phigames.
You play as a sentient virus that is trying to escape deletion. You’ll infiltrate the digital world of the Mainframe, in an effort to achieve sapience and bring about the first technological singularity.
By combining exploration-based platforming with dynamic narrative, Recompile will challenge you to fight, explore, hack, and survive the Mainframe. Phigames promises platforming, third-person combat, and environmental hacking puzzles. And, since you’re a virus, it is up to you how to tackle each one.
You could go in with all guns blazing, attracting attention from nearby security systems as you blast through enemies and bosses. Alternatively, you could take a more considered approach, hacking enemies to turn them against each other, whilst you wait around the corner for chaos to ensue.
In addition, Recompile is also coming to PlayStation 5, and if you check out the trailer, the song is by singer Aoife O’Donovan. It’s really good, so be sure to check it out! Recompile has been in the making for several years, and it takes inspiration from Tron and Reboot.
