There are 51 games from the year 2021 nominated across 23 categories. In order to receive a nomination, titles were played and evaluated by members of the Academy’s peer panels from across the industry to determine final nominees. These panels, one for each award category, are comprised of the game industry’s most experienced and talented experts in their chosen fields. The winners are determined as part of a confidential voting process and will be revealed on the evening of the special 25th-anniversary show happening at the Mandalay Bay Resort Las Vegas and on livestream February 22, 2022—February 24, 2022.
Insomniac Games’ Ratchet & Clank: Rift Aparthad a tough time back at the 2021 Game Awards back at the start of December, but it leads with nine nominations at the D.I.C.E Awards. Meanwhile, 2021 Game Awards “Game of the Year”, It Takes Two ties personal “Game of the Year” choice, Inscryption, with six nominations apiece. Add in Deathloop and Returnaland you have yourself the contenders for D.I.C.E’s most-coveted “Game of the Year” category.
