Puyo Puyo Champions or known as Puyo Puyo eSports in Asia is headed to the West next month! On May 7, 2019, you can own the game for $9.99 USD on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PC and Nintendo Switch!
Like previous entries, features that come in Champions include a focus on global online competitive multiplayer, Puyo Puyo Champions is based on the fan-favourite rulesets of Puyo Puyo 2 (Tsu) and Puyo Puyo Fever. This includes the popular “Fever Mode” where you crush your opponents with ready-made chains! Tournament Mode features up to eight players and multiple selectable characters. Also, there are multiple rulesets available from different Puyo Puyo games making an appearance.
I’ve only ever played one Puyo Puyo title but never really dove into the series. At roughly $15 CAD I may dive in blind and see what everyone keeps talking about and how great these games are. I’m a bit upset I missed out on Puyo Puyo Tetris but my personal backlog is growing each day and it’s hard finding the right amount of time to commit.
