For a while, the last month or so, we’ve heard things rumbling online, especially from Giant Bomb’s Jeff Grubb, that Sony was weighing its options if it was going to do a State of Play or PlayStation showcase live stream with a June window later being thrown around. We didn’t know Sony’s plan until yesterday, when the company officially announced it was going in the State of Play direction, and it was happening today at 5 p.m. ET.
The June 2025 edition of the State of Play was announced at the time to be a 40+ minute showcase featuring “news and updates on must-play games coming to PS5” from “a selection of great games from creators across the globe.”
