The long-in-gestation Project Athia has a new name: Forspoken, which Square Enix revealed at the end of today’s Square Enix Presents. The game has been in development at Luminous Productions and is set in a beautiful, cruel world where you play as Frey Holland, the protagonist. Frey (Ella Balinska) is an ordinary young woman who must harness her magical abilities to survive in the fantastical yet dangerous land of Athia.
Luminous Productions is a subsidiary of Square Enix and was founded by Final Fantasy XV Director Hajime Tabata. Forspoken is scheduled to launch in 2022 on PlayStation 5 as a timed exclusive.
