Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake is Official

Today is the second iteration of this summer’s Ubisoft Forward, an event held to showcase the games Ubisoft is working on and releasing. Like clockwork, a leak has sprung up just before the event is set to take place. Once again, being such a huge company has proven to be troublesome as the Russian version of Uplay has leaked Prince of Persia Remake, a remake of 2003’s Sand of Time.

AndrewDTF of ResetEra found two images on the official Uplay website, and then this was confirmed again by Twitter user zavtracast.

Me personally, I’d rather see a continuation of the 2008 Prince f Persia series before anything else. Ubisoft crafted a beautiful world, exciting characters and a compelling narrative that they simply left to hang. In the 12 years since I’ve always wondered how those narrative threads could be completed.

To add insult to injury, this new Prince of Persia remake is looking lacklustre and the visuals do nothing to excite me for whatever Ubisoft is cooking up. We’ll find out more later today when Ubisoft Forward begins at 3:00 PM ET.

Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake will launch January 21, 2021.
