Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown

Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown Is Getting New, Free Content Starting This Month

Several new modes and story DLC

One of the early contenders for the Console Creatures’ 2024 Game of the Year (yea, I will be speaking for all of us here *ahem*) is Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown.

After a couple of hours with a preview build late last year, diving into the Metroidvania title was a great way to kick off this year in gaming. We dove deep with our thoughts and review on it on the Creature Cast in January.

At the time we wondered if more content could be on the way for Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown, and now we have our answer: Yes!

First on the free content docket is the Warrior’s Path. If the game wasn’t challenging enough (it is!), then why not test your skills in a speedrun mode or a punishing permadeath run!? And if those aren’t up your alley, some new costumes will also be added. By the looks of it, there will be four available. This update will drop real soon, on March 20th.

The spring and summer updates are Boss Attack and Divine Trials. These will include a boss rush mode, more outfits, combat and puzzle challenges, and additional amulets for Sargon to wear. Exact dates and further details on this have not been revealed.

Lastly, Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown is getting story DLC later this year. Once again, no date has been announced, and it’s unclear if this will be paid content. The graphic provided just reads, “More details to come soon!”

Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown received a lot of praise when it was released in early 2024, and I believe it is well-earned. To me, the game was amazing! Free or paid, more content for an already great game is good to see. It’s a title that could have stood on its own two feet (or swords) and without DLC; thankfully, we’ll be lucky enough to experience more from Ubisoft.

If you haven’t played it, you can grab it on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, Switch, PC, and Luna.
