Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown

Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown Announced

Kicking off Summer Game Fest was a new game from Ubisoft. Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown returns the series as a side scroller to its roots.

Developed by Ubisoft Montpellier, the studio behind Rayman Legends, this new entry in the Prince of Persia series sees you play as Sargon, a Persian warrior tasked with exploring the cursed region of Mount Qaf to search for Prince Ghassan.

Ubisoft is restructuring the series as Metroidvania, filled with 2.5D maps and hidden secrets to discover. You’ll explore the Citadel of Knowledge to the colourful Hyrcanian Forest; you’ll explore many places inspired by Persian mythology. Ubisoft says you’ll face off against Jahandar, the Manticore, and many other enemies.

There will also be music from Gareth Coker and Mentrix, an Iranian-born composer that mixes traditional instruments and modern sounds.

Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown will launch on January 18 on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, Xbox One, Switch and PC. More information will be available next week at Ubisoft Forward.
