If you were expecting the Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake to make an appearance at Ubisoft Forward this Saturday well think again.
The development team gave an update on Twitter through the game series’ Twitter account. The bad news is that it won’t be one of the games showcased during Ubisoft’s E3 partnered live stream event but the good news is that Ubisoft has confirmed it is aiming to release the remake based on the 2003 classic game next year.
“Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake will not be in Ubisoft Forward. We are making great progress for our game to release next year, but we are not ready to share any additional information just yet. We will share an update as soon as we are ready,” The Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake dev team said in the post.

This gives us a better idea of when we’re getting our hands on the game as it was delayed from its March 18th released to an unannounced release date. When it was first revealed at Ubisoft’s second Forward event back in September, it was not an impressive game visually as it looked like it belonged on the PS3. Rather than a game releasing in 2021, especially after the release of the Final Fantasy VII, Crash and Spyro remakes.
The hope of the extra development time is honestly, refreshed visuals as that was the main criticism of the game. The little gameplay that was shown looked very reminiscent of the original game, but hopefully, they polish all aspects of the game and not just the visuals.
The extra time will hopefully allow Ubisoft to make this game right and make it a success in sales for them to remake the later game’s in the trilogy; the more mature and bloody games I was personally a fan of. The Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake is aiming to release in 2022 on PC, PS4 & Xbox One.
