After several rough showings and delays, the Prince of Persia remake ended up moving from Ubisoft Mumbai back to Ubisoft Montreal. Today is a bit different though as several retailers have begun to delist the remake from their stores and offered those who pre-ordered a refund.
Per IGN, the notice comes that the game is still being worked on but the pre-orders have been delisted. At this time there is no longer a release window and we’re unsure of what Ubisoft is doing.
“As a consequence, we are no longer targeting an FY23 release anymore and the game has been delisted.”
“If players wish to cancel their preorder they are invited to contact their retailer. They will be updated on the project as the development is moving along.”
Originally announced way back in September 2020, the project was meant to be a full remake of one of Ubisoft’s most beloved games. The original release date was January 2021, before being pushed back, then back again, now it is indefinitely delayed as Ubisoft Montreals picks up the project.
