During a new episode of Pokémon Presents, Game Freak revealed the next generation of games. Titled Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet, the duology will launch later in 2022.
Near the end of the 15-minute presentation, eager viewers were given their first look at the next pair of titles. While it is unclear the direction the series will go after the launch of Pokémon Legends: Arceus, the developers confirmed the game will continue to be an open-world setting with wild Pokémon in the wilderness available to capture and train as part of your team.
Alongside the initial reveal, Game Freak revealed the three new starters players will be able to choose from — Sprigatito, a Grass Cat Pokémon, Fuecoco, aFire Croc Pokémon, and Quaxly, a Duckling Pokémon.

The last generation of games launched in 2019 with Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield. Pokémon Day happens each year on the anniversary of the franchise’s launch in 1996 with Pokémon Red and Pokémon Green.
