Pokémon Scarlet & Violet Sells Over 20 Million Units

Now the fourth best selling Pokémon game of all time

In just six weeks on shelves, Pokémon Scarlet & Violet have surpassed over 20 million units sold.

As revealed in Nintendo’s latest earnings report, the first nine months of FY23 have proven that there is a ton of goodwill regarding the brand. In the first six weeks, 20.61 million units have shipped to retailers.

According to Serebii owner Joe Merrick, this sales figure means Pokémon Scarlet & Violet are now the fourth best-selling Pokémon games of all time, with only Pokémon Gold & Silver (23.7 million), Sword & Shield (25.6 million) and the original Red, Green & Blue (31.3 million) have sold more.

Given the sales numbers, this now means that Pokémon Scarlet & Violet now sit on the Top Selling Titles by Sales from Nintendo’s official site. As of this posting, the titles sit in seventh place, behind Super Mario Odyssey, Pokémon Sword and Shield, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, Animal Crossing: New Horizons, and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe in first with 52 million units.
