Pokémon Legends: Z-A Sells 5.8 Million Units In One Week

Pokémon Legends: Z-A is off to a strong sales start.

According to a press release from The Pokémon Company, first-week sales totalled 5.8 million units. The Pokémon Company also announced that almost half of those sales were on Switch 2, showing strong support for the newly released console.

The new entry has a lot of buzz around it, changing up the formula from turn-based battles to real-time action combat. We really liked the newest entry, praising Lumiose City, its inhabitants, and the new combat.

In our review for Pokémon Legends: Z-A, we said that “GameFreak’s been at this for decades now, but it’s rarely stepped out of its lane. On the rare chance the studio decides to do something out of the box, we get products like Pokémon Legends, a series that brings Pokémon to life in a way the mainline games no longer can. I’ve been a foreloren fan for several years, but I’m seeing changes that are making me a believer all over again. I hope this momentum-building game is enough to catapult Pokémon into a new era of games that bring people together.”
