After 25 years, today marks the last day we’ll see Ash Ketchum as the protagonist in Pokémon. The final episode of Pokémon Ultimate Journeys has concluded in Japan and while I don’t doubt we’ll see Ash in the future, the baton has now passed to new protagonists Liko and Roy.
Pokémon Horizons: The Series sees Liko, whose partner Pokémon is Sprigatito, and Roy travel across the various regions while meeting new characters, including Friede and Captain Pikachu. Better known as the Rising Volt Tacklers, Friede and his partner Pokémon are joined by Orla and Metagross, Murdock and Rockruff, Mollie and Chansey, and Ludlow. Liko and Roy will also meet Amethio and Ceruledge who are part of the Explorers.
