PlayStation’s Canadian arm recently partnered with one of Canada’s most exclusive fashion lines to reimagine the gaming company’s iconic aesthetic.
It is the month of October’s Very Own [OVO], the now-luxury-status fashion design company started in 2012 alongside a record label of the same name by Toronto-born rapper Drake.
Today is a special day for OVO as it is named as such for the fact that today [October 24th] marks Drake’s birthday, making him “October’s Very Own.”
The collection uses OVO’s approach to minimalist design in textiles and graphics, paired with PlayStation’s progression over more than 30 years —from blocky graphics and wired controllers to that bold blue that was everywhere —and don’t forget that iconic PlayStation 1 startup page! It also flows into the modern blacks and whites with crisp lines that have come to define the PlayStation 5.
Being a company that retains its Canadian lineage, even if its founder hasn’t always done so, this is exclusive to us. It’s admirable that Drake has made this a reality, as it can often feel like exclusives —especially PlayStation exclusives —end up skipping us.
The collection comprises six pieces, perfect for cozy fall gaming sessions, available on the OVO web store. They are as follows:
PlayStation Wireframe T-Shirt – White: $68

PlayStation Wireframe Garment Dyed Utility Crewneck – Garment Dyed Black: $148

PlayStation Zen Garment Dyed Full-Zip Hoodie – Black: $198

PlayStation Gradient Owl Garment Dyed Utility Hoodie – Black: $168

PlayStation Liquid Owl Garment Dyed T-Shirt – Black: $88

PlayStation Static Sherpa Jacket – Blue: $228
