Looks like it might be time to say goodbye to the PlayStation Plus Collection, a perk introduced in 2020 that gave PlayStation Plus users on PS5 access to 20 or so critically acclaimed PS4 titles ranging from some of Sony’s best first-party games to a couple of third-party standouts. Sony revealed in a PlayStation Blog post that they would sunsetting the perk on May 9th in an update on the newest games coming to PlayStation Plus Essential in February.
“We also wanted to provide an update on the PlayStation Plus Collection that has been offered as a benefit to PlayStation Plus members on PS5 since 2020. On May 9 the PlayStation Plus Collection will no longer be offered. If you haven’t redeemed the titles in this collection yet, you can still do so until May 9, which will enable you to access those titles even after this date for as long as you remain a PlayStation Plus member,” Sony said in a PlayStation Blog post.
