PlayStation has been dropping its single-player offerings on PC over the last few years, but if a new report from Jason Schreier at Bloomberg is correct, those days are over. Schreier rarely misses, detailing in the report that PlayStation is changing up its PC strategy, moving away from porting its tentpole single-player offerings. Live service games will continue to launch on PC, with games like Marathon and Marvel Tokon hitting multiple platforms at launch.
The report goes on to say that neither last year’s Ghost of Yotei nor the upcoming Saros will be coming to PC. PlayStation has brought a number of its single-player offerings, including Marvel’s Spider-Man, God of War, and Horizon Zero Dawn, over to PC, usually a few years after the console launch. In the wake of Xbox going multiplatform and plenty of industry volatility, PlayStation seems to be retreating from PC to keep its consoles more attractive with exclusive single-player offerings, a move that brings back the old status quo.
One important piece of context here is that when someone buys a PlayStation, Sony doesn't just get their $500+. The company also gets 30% of *everything* they buy on the PlayStation Store. In other words, Sony makes the most money by getting as many people as possible on its consoles

Schreier also noted in a follow-up post on BlueSky that Sony offers 30 percent off every purchase on the PlayStation Store, incentivizing it to attract more console players. Some games will still make their way to PC, with Death Stranding 2: On the Beach just a few weeks away from launch. How things fare past that remains to be seen, but if Schreier is right, the days of single-player exclusives on PC are over.
