Play Your Original Xbox On Modern TVs With EON’s XBHD

Bringing the OG XB to your modern sets

If you’re like me, booting up your retro consoles from your childhood is a straight shot of nostalgia you need sometimes. I have my original SNES, GameBoy Colour and Advance, and original Xbox within reach of where I’m sitting. EON’s XBHD may be the next step in bringing at least one of those consoles back to life with their adapter that will bring a new adapter.

EON has made a name for themselves in the last few years with their GameCube add-ons and one for the Nintendo 64. Now, for the XBHD, they’re converting the component video capabilities of 2001 and bringing them to the modern age.

The small device will be an add-on to the Xbox console, allowing it to output  480i, 480p, 720p and 1080i. Additionally, it’ll be able to expand to two HD outputs for dual screens. Multiplayer LAN parties more your thing? The XBHD is also equipped with an ethernet expansion allowing you to connect three more consoles to play some epic Halo battles on Blood Gulch.

The audio was also considered, with a direct line 3.5mm MiniTOSLINK jack.

The adapter also has a pretty slick style. EON says it has gone out of its way to make the device match the aesthetic and feel of the console itself.

The XBHD will be released on June 20th, 2023, with an MSRP of $189.99 USD.
