So got some bad news for anyone anticipating a cinematic puzzle adventure game, Planet of Lana: An Off-Earth Odyssey, the developer Wishfully Studios announced on Xbox Wire they have decided to delay their game out of this year and are now aiming to release it sometime next Spring. It’s not all doom and gloom as Wishfully also reveals some good news as Planet of Lana: An Off-Earth Odyssey will release at launch on PC and Xbox Game Pass, check out the announcement trailer to get another look at the game.
“We’re sorry that completing development on Planet of Lana will take longer than initially expected, but we promise it will be worth the wait. Planet of Lana has been a passion project for us for a long time, so we want to ensure that when it’s finally available, people are getting it in pristine condition. Plus, Game Pass users will get to play it on launch day, which is exciting to us as it means we get to share it with as wide a fanbase as possible,” Wishfully director Adam Stjärnljus.
For anyone who hasn’t heard of the game, Planet of Lana: An Off-Earth Odyssey inserts players into the shoes of the titular Lana who is a young girl escaping a robot army that has invaded her home planet. While on the run, her older sister is caught leaving Lana alone to find her way in the wild planet forests – along the way she is joined cat familiar who Lana names Mui. The game is playable in 2D but features beautifully hand-painted environments that showcase the game’s 3D rendered artwork as well.
Planet of Lana: An Off-Earth Odyssey is being published by Thunderful Games and is set to release in Spring 2023 on PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S and will be available on Day One via PC/Xbox Game Pass.
