When Persona 5 Tactica launches, players can expect unique enemies with an increasing variety across the campaign. You’ll also go toe-to-toe against the Sumo-maton as it wreaks havoc and attacks anything in its path. The Guarded Geisha is also ready to defend against incoming attacks with her parasol. And let’s not forget the Slimy Shinobi dispatches clones to attack and confuse enemies.

Atlus mentions stages are filled with interactive elements, and you can fight through them as gameplay elements unfold. Some levels may have surveillance cameras to call in reinforcements or elevators to move around the level. You can use Dash Squares to leap across elevated parts of a stage or explosive barrels that go off.

In battle, if a character doesn’t take action, at the end of the turn, they will begin to charge and, in the next turn, will power up. You can use this to lure enemies and earn a charge, with each character having their charge and effect.

The Sub-Persona is a new addition to the series, and all Phantom Thieves can equip one. By equipping a Sub-Persona, you’ll raise your character’s stats. You can then use the Persona’s inherited and unique skills.

Persona-5-Tactica-4

Atlus says that not only do Sub-Personas have unique skills and that you can use SP to activate them, but they also have passive support skills that automatically activate.

The Velvet Room returns and can now fuse two Personas to create a new weapon in addition to the traditional fusion mechanics. You can combine certain Personas to create new, unique weapons. These weapons are superior to what you can buy in the shop.

If you play on harder difficulty levels from Hard and onward, enemy strength levels and HP increase and your attacks will damage your team if you’re not careful. So, you must be careful when selecting and choosing attacks, or your party may lack health. Thankfully, you can retry battles as many times as you wish.

Persona 5 Tactica is due out for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series,  Switch, and PC on November 17, 2023.
