Persona 4 Revival

Here’s Everything Everything Announced At The Atlus Presents: Persona 4 Revival Panel at Anime Expo

Persona, as a video game IP, is turning 30 this year and is thus evoking itself everywhere it can. And last weekend, as part of Anime Expo in Los Angeles, Persona publisher Atlus chose to put their focus on the game that is arguably most people’s introduction to the series: Persona 4.

This is, of course, largely based on the fact that while Persona 6 is finally officially confirmed, February of next year brings us Persona 4 Revival.

The “Atlus Presents: Persona 4 Revival” panel held this past weekend brought together fans and members of that upcoming game.

Panel guests included Kazuhisa Wada (general producer of Persona), Yohsuke Uda (business producer of Persona), Shigenori Soejima (character designer and illustrator at Atlus), and the emcee and Persona 4 Revival English voice actor for Yosuke Hanamura, Paul Castro Jr.

We learned that English voice actor Abby Trott (NieR: Automata, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate) will voice the iconic idol, and my personal “Best Girl,” Rise Kujikawa.

For those looking to get ready for Persona 4 Revival without replaying the existing games, or alongside playing them, ATLUS and Aniplex have partnered to release Persona 4 the Animation and Persona 4 The Golden Animation free on YouTube until August 19, 2026.

Persona 4 Revival will lean heavily into being an anime-within-a-video-game, as president and CEO of legendary Japanese animation studio MAPPA (Yuri!!! on Ice, Jujutsu Kaisen),  Manabu Otsuka, dropped by to share that the Nakano-based studio has been tapped to reanimate all of the game’s famous in-game anime cutscenes.

Persona 4 Revival makes like the Midnight Channel, and turns itself on on February 18, 2027. It’ll be available on Xbox Series, on PC via the Xbox app and Steam, and on PlayStation 5. It will be available Day One with Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass, and will be part of Xbox Play Anywhere.
