Paradox Interactive just concluded the Paradox Announcement Show with three new games and a few content expansion packs for some of their fan favourites.
Cities: Skylines II
Let’s start with a sophomore release for Colossal Order’s Cities builder simulation. When it comes to cities, bigger is almost always better. And that would appear to be the case with Cities: Skylines II, which features fully-realized transport and economy systems, a wealth of construction and customization options, and advanced modding capabilities.
The Lamplighters League
Harebrained Schemes is out to light things up with this Saturday morning cartoon-esque deep tactics RPG set in an alternative 1930s world where the choices you make affect the battles you fight.
Life By You
There isn’t much out there yet about this life simulator from Paradox Tectonic, but it’s headed by Rod Humble, father apparent of The Sims and Second Life, so I imagine we’re in for some serious sim living when the game receives an official reveal on March 20th.
Crusader Kings III: Tours & Tournaments PC Expansion
Crusader Kings III is a big game about Making your kingdom and country the best that it can be. But Tours & Tournaments is taking things out of the castle in a big way! Enjoy grand activities and explore new character options and interactions.
Tour your monarch’s realm to check in on vassals, host or fight in grand tournaments to demonstrate skill at arms, and plan grand royal weddings to impress friends and rivals.
Europa Universalis IV: Domination Expansion
Europa Universalis IV: Domination’s most popular nations are getting complete makeovers with new historical colours, military units, political estates to manage, and dozens of historical events that make the history of the early modern world come vividly to life. There are also new mission trees for the great powers (the Ottoman Empire, Ming China, France, Russia, and more) that change the types of alternate histories available.
Surviving the Aftermath: Rebirth
If you haven’t had enough infectious disease action over the past couple of years, the new Rebirth expansion will see you use your knowledge, tools, and specialized buildings to find a cure for an infectious, ecological threat called Blight, and protect the world for a brighter future. You’ve also been asking for terraforming, and Iceflake Studios has heard you! Rebirth grants the power to modify and revitalize the environment for colonists.
Knights of Pen & Paper 3
The sequel to Paradox’s pop-culture-infused turn-based RPG series comes full of expanded character creation options, new mechanics and systems, and enhanced graphics.
Mechabellum
A sci-fi auto-battler game where players compete with ever-growing armies of mechs, robots, and heavy weapons. Equipping a diverse array of mechs, countering opponents with the right combinations, and deploying special moves at just the right time are all keys to claiming victory in these massive battles.
Across the Obelisk: The Wolf Wars
The first expansion to the deckbuilding RPG was released last year, featuring a new zone, character, and more.
Stellaris: Overlord and Stellaris: First Contact
Stellaris: Overlord launches on consoles on March 8. Centred around empire management features, Overlord adds a series of new mechanics to Stellaris, which grant players unprecedented levels of control over their galactic domains, from powerful new megastructures to deeper interactions with vassal systems.
Stellaris: First Contact launches on PC on March 14. Players can experience events and mechanics for meeting pre-FTL civilizations, discover new origins, and utilize cloaking technology for the first time.
