Mobius Digital and Annapurna Interactive will launch Outer Wilds: Archaeologist Edition for the Switch on December 7, 2024. A physical edition will follow in 2024, as revealed in today’s Indie World Showcase.
Outer Wilds has won multiple awards since launching, including Winner of Best Game at the 2020 BAFTA Games Awards and named Game of the Year 2019 by several gaming outlets.
You play as a recruit of the Outer Wild Ventures, a space program looking for answers in an evolving solar system. As you explore, you’ll find the Dark Bramble and learn more about the aliens in the system. This leads to a time loop showcasing many mysteries you’ll need to discover and solve.
Of course, this won’t be easy, and there are many hidden locations that change as time passes. You’ll visit underground cities, the surface of the planet and more as it begins to erode.
