One Hell Of A Run: EA Is Shutting Down The Original Burnout Paradise Servers

The end of an era! EA revealed they are shutting down the servers for 2008’s version of Burnout Paradise – not the remaster from last year. Whew. EA confirmed the news on their official Facebook page and provided a date for the shutdown: August 1, 2019.

Burnout Paradise fans, after over 11.5 years of service, the servers for the original 2008 game will be closing on August 1st 2019. That affects Xbox 360, PS3 and PC versions. Offline play will still be available of course, and Burnout Paradise Remastered servers are unaffected.

Thanks to the lingering hardcore few for staying with us. You’ve got 106 days (or so) to finish all those barrel-roll challenges!

All online functionality at that point will no longer work. Thankfully, the spirit of Burnout lives on in the remaster, which still has online connectivity and is a ton of blast to play. In our review, we talked about how good the game felt, but definitley showed its age.
