Nintendo’s President Approval Ratings Is On The Rise

In 2015 after the sudden death of former president, Satoru Iwata, Tatsumi Kimishima took over as the head for Nintendo. It was big shoes that Kimishima had to fill as Iwata became a face for Nintendo Direct, but it seems that the newest president is doing a great job.

At the end of June in Nintendo’s annual shareholder meetings it was announced that Kimishima’s approval ratings with the shareholders have gone up. Last year his approval ratings were 87.14% and this year it increased over ten percent at 97.7%. There are many factors that can be attributed to his increased popularity but it’s probably safe to say that the very successful launch of the company’s newest console, the Switch; and highly anticipated titles like The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe have a lot to do with it. It can only go up from here as the company has a more exciting things happening later in the year. Like the release of Splatoon 2, Mario Odyssey and the SNES Classic.

Before becoming president of the multi-billion dollar company, Kimishima held numerous high level positions including president of Nintendo of America.
