Nintendo Reveals The Switch Lite

Once again, the cat is out of the bag! Nintendo officially revealed the long-rumoured new Switch model the Switch Lite.

The portable-only model of the Nintendo Switch launches in September for roughly $260 CAD, while the base model of the Switch will stay at its current price. Nintendo revealed three colours:  turquoise, yellow, and grey. I’m already in love with the yellow and turquoise models! A carrying case and screen protector set for Nintendo Switch Lite will also be available

“Adding Nintendo Switch Lite to the lineup gives gamers more colour and price point options,” said Nintendo of America President Doug Bowser. “Now consumers can choose the system that best suits how they like to play their favourite Nintendo Switch games.”

Of note is the screen size, which is now at 5.5 inches, compared to the base Switch’s 6.2-inch screen. It’s also a bit lighter at around .61 pounds. The Lite also features a better battery and used a traditional D-Pad.

The Joy-Con controllers are also not detachable, has no kickstand, and most of importantly doesn’t have a TV mode or dock included.
