This past August, Nintendo announced former longtime Mario voice actor Charles Martinet was retiring as the iconic voice we’ve all come to love. Speculation immediately began swirling regarding who would replace Martinet as the plumber from Brooklyn. Trailers for the upcoming Super Mario Bros. Wonder featured a new voice actor, and months of fans scouring the internet for clues has finally led to confirmation from the new actor himself.

The actor is Kevin Afghani, who has worked on several properties, including Arnold in Genshin Impact, Raditz in the Dragon Ball R&R series, and Anime Penguin: Red Snow.
“Incredibly proud to have voiced Mario and Luigi in Super Mario Bros. Wonder. Thanks to Nintendo for inviting me into the Flower Kingdom,” reads the tweet from Afghani. An email from Nintendo confirms the casting, saying, “The voice actor’s name is Kevin Afghani.”
